Laura Batten
Counsellor
Laura is originally from Canada and has called Aotearoa home for the past 10 years. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Counselling and Addictions Practice and is working towards her registration with NZAC. She is passionate about creating a safe, supportive space for clients to explore what matters most to them. Laura primarily works with adults and has experience supporting people from diverse backgrounds, including those in the sex work community and LGBTQ+ individuals. Her approach to counselling is grounded in client-centred values, drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused techniques, and Narrative Therapy that bring the mind and body into connection. Laura has a special interest in working with people navigating the impacts of trauma and anxiety, supporting them to feel more empowered, present, and connected.
Warm, down-to-earth, and friendly, Laura brings a calm presence and isn’t afraid to share a laugh when it’s needed. She works alongside people navigating life’s challenges, helping them move forward in meaningful and compassionate ways.
