Counselling Fees & Accessibility
At Kōwhai Therapeutic Services, we’ve worked hard to create a pricing scale that reflects the experience level of our counsellors while remaining committed to making counselling accessible to our community.
For individual counselling our prices vary from $50 - 180 per session depending on the counsellors level of experiences. We offer a sliding scale of $50–$100 for sessions with our student counsellors, who are completing their Bachelor’s or Master’s training with Kōwhai. This option is designed to support those for whom finances may be a barrier to accessing counselling. If this applies to you, we invite you to select the price point that works best for your circumstances.
Our counsellors are grouped into four tiers:

Sliding Scale Counsellors – Student counsellors in training through Bachelor’s or Master’s programmes, offering sessions on a sliding scale.

Working Towards Registration – Counsellors with over 100 hours of experience through their training programmes, actively working towards registration with their chosen professional body.

Qualified Counsellors – Fully qualified professionals.

Clinical Leads – Sessions with Sam and Steph, our co-founders and clinical leads.
