Ruby is a student kicking off her second year in her Bachelor of Counselling and Addiction Practice programme at Whitireia. Born in Nottingham, England, but having lived in Aotearoa since she was two, Ruby’s passion for people and understanding how we all tick started young. That passion, coupled with her deep empathy for others and her dedication to social justice, eventually brought her to Whitireia, and to Kōwhai.

In her downtime, Ruby is an avid reader, writer, and film buff who could harp on for hours about her favourite (and least favourite) shows and movies. She is an enthusiastic and compassionate individual who prioritises active listening, open communication, and making sure that those around her feel seen, heard, respected, and empowered.
